Staging Ideas

#1 To spruce up your vinyl shutters try using a little ArmorAll (the stuff you use on your car). This is a quick and very inexpensive way to make your shutters look like new again.

#2 Make your own artwork. Staple fabric onto art canvas and use as art. Buy different sizes of canvases and coordinating fabrics. Could use the same size squares and hang 2 x 2. Or, in a bedroom, hang 3 or 5 across the top of the bed to act as a headboard. You might also try using insulation board sold at Lowes or Home Depot.

#3 Buy inexpensive floral or print napkins and drape over curtain rod for an instant window treatment.

#4 Use wine bottle bead jackets to put over glass globes on lights.

Holiday Ideas

#1 Make an easy centerpiece using a hollowed out gourd or pumpkin. Place a container of water inside and fill with mums or fall leaves. Or You can replace the lid and drill holes in the top and stick small branches directly into pumpkin. Drill out of the top of the pumpkin, squash or gourd to fit a tealight . You could even use a battery operated light.

#2 Collect pretty bottles with cork tops. Fill with colored water (use food coloring) and group together.

#3 You will need a clear glass container that's about 5" wide and at least 8" tall, pillar candle that will fit inside glass, Epsom salts.  Place candle inside glass.  Pour Epsom salts around sides of candle about a third of the way up the candle.  It will look like snow.

#4 If you're lucky enough to have a cedar, pine tree or a holly tree in your yard, you can cut off branches about 12"-18" long.  You can use these on top of table tops or mantels and place figurines or candles on top of them.  If you have an empty planter from the summer, you can stand the branches upright.  Place a pretty bow in front and you have a festive arrangement you can set at your front door.
